Great app. Many compliments !!!
With more and more screen estates, this is a an essential productiviy tool for everyone.
Over the years I’ve tried many windows management apps, but I always come back to Moom. It has stood the test of time for me.
Moom is on my short list of “must-have” utilities. This is one of the best bargains on the App Store. I use only the default mode settings, and even so, I figure this boosts my productivity in Mac UI about 2x.
I don’t think I could give higher praise than to say that this should not be an add-on application. This is how your macOS should be “out of the box”. It’s how the Green button should work, and it’s really a sorry thing when I encounter a machine that doesn’t have Moom on it. Apple, please buy Moom and integrate it. It’s how it should be.
I love this utility. An amazing time saver. I use it on all my macs. Apple should include this utility on all Macs!
As others have said - this should be standard in the MacOS - it’s everything that Apple aspirse to - simple, intuitive but powerful (way more so than the lazy and overly complicated split screen that Apple have ported accross from iOS).
For power users, and perhaps others, this is one of the most useful utilities around. Permits easy use, control and synronization of all screen real estate.
Ive used this utility reliably for years. Its never failed. Its never caused a problem. Its never broken due to an update. Its never looked out of place or distracted me.
I’ve been using this utility since switching from Windows to Mac. Love the abilty to customize windows. Hold your mouse over the green maximize window control button to add many window features. Make sure you go through the preferences as there are other features added to this tool that help with workflow.
I got started with Moom so fast. I usually use it for quickly maximizing windows from the keyboard, moving windows to different monitors, or aligning windows to be exactly on a grid to satisfy OCD tendencies. I just reinstalled my OS and realized how frustrating it was not having Moom, so I had to drop it a five star review.
Pro: The layouts are easily customizable in that you don’t have to read textual descriptions but rather view graphic depictions of the layout you want to use for each window—which can be done simply by hovering over the green maximize button on the corner of each window. Cons: The pricepoint of this app seems relatively expensive for its performance. Windows for apps such as Keynote don’t cooperate fully with the command to align to a certain place on the screen. For instance, when splitting the screen to have one window on the left and one window on the right, Keynote overlaps the other window and blocks whatever I need to see with the two windows up simultaneously.
Definitely one of my favorite Mac utility apps. It makes screen snapping extremelly easy and quick. I love that I can use both keyboard shortcuts and mouseover/mouse movements with this app - especially when I’m on my MacBook vs. iMac or differently when my MacBook is docked with an external screen and keyboard vs. traveling. My only complaint is the manual change for the hotkeys needed between use modes (docked/traveling) on my MacBook. I prefer using the number pad on my larger keyboard when docked where the MBP built-in keyboard of course doesn’t have that. Otherwise…..great app!
What a silly name. What an extraordinarily convenient app. This is the second time I’ve paid for it… I couldn’t manage to get it to reinstall when I bought a different computer. Worth the money.
This is insanely simple, great and serves it’s purpose efficiently. I prefer this app to others. But Xcode, App store etc. doesn’t work when I select “Move and Zoom to Half screen”. Instead of half, it takes 2/3rd of the screen. rate: (4/5) Update: I contacted with support via Twitter and they informed me that `Xcode/iBooks etc. has a minimum window width, and no app can override that. 950px minimum, so you need 1900px+ for half-width`. BTW and it was instant reply. So rate increase to 5/5
This app is awesome. It makes screen real estate priorities super simple. It takes a little getting used to the macros, but it’s super easy to customize window sizing and controls. Suggestions (sorry if these are already features, but I can’t seem to figure them out): Allow me to set arrangement for multiple desktops with one shortcut, allow me to use the keyboard to send windows from one desktop to another. Allow me to rearrange my desktops with the keyboard, send them to other displays, etc. Would love it if Moom recognized the apps I regularly have open and automatically placed them in their prearranged spot based on where I have them for certain contexts (1 display, 2, 3, etc). Thanks for the support, you’ve made a great app with tons more potential.
I use this countless times a day. It almost eliminates me ever needing to manually move or resize a window, which is time consuming and annoying. I consider this a must have app for my Mac.
Moom does what you want it to and doesn’t make a big deal about it, staying out of the way until you need to access it. The utility is useful, and my only complain is that the app is too expensive. I paid $5 for it a while back and now learn it’s jumped to $10 (which I never would have paid to start with). The utility is a basic one. Seems the app should have basic pricing.
Moom, as a window sizing/placement utility has no equal. The are dozens of utilities that offer the same results as Moom, but none of them are as elegantly simple. I use Moom so often that I probably take it for granted that it’s not part of the OS. And it’s working perfectly with OS 10.10 Yosemite.
I’ll keep it short. This utility really is awesome and helps ease the hassle of window management. The only real downside as others have noted is the price. It is a little steep, but I wanted the convenience more and I’m satisfied with the purchase. Lastly, and maybe a bit silly, but it makes opening several windows at a time kind of fun.
